What if I told you that there is a place where you can travel this summer? Yes, and officially it is corona-free.
I am a Third Culture Kid, who used to travel between three “homes”: Czech Republic, Serbia and Montenegro.
Montenegro, hidden on the shores of the Adriatic sea, guarded by monumental mountains, was a fortress. A place that was once undisclosed to the rest of the world, a question mark on the map. So remote. Its guardians were the ancient rocks, its tall peaks so sharp and the terrain so steep that no man would dare to cross. The stories about the land covered in black mountains travelled far, the stories of a paradise land reached the West: from pebbly shores to jagged ranks of mountains, some of its vistas so frightening, such as the plunges of rocks beneath the narrow serpentine dirt roads or sudden tornado-like waterspouts sweeping in from the sea. Awe-inspiring habitat: the world’s most grandiose natural creations, deep canyons, glacial lakes turning from blue to turquoise. The flowers of all colours covering the fields, the earthy textures of centuries-old houses splashed on the sun-kissed valleys, between the green mountains and snow-white peaks of this country flows the crystal clear river, the goddess Tara, a diamond in the rough. The untouched nature treasured the most distinct forms of flora and fauna.
