For many, trauma isn’t just a memory — it’s something they carry with them every day.

They may smile in public, go to work, support loved ones, and keep life moving. But inside, they might be navigating feelings of numbness, anxiety, or pain that others can’t always see. Often, well-meaning advice like “Just move on” or “That was a long time ago” doesn’t match the lived experience of healing. Trauma doesn’t always follow a timeline, and healing isn’t linear.

When left unaddressed, trauma can quietly affect relationships, self-worth, and a person’s ability to feel safe and connected. These challenges aren’t always obvious, but they are genuine and, unfortunately, they’re often overlooked in conversations about mental health.

That’s why the STAR Network offers a space for connection and support.

Introducing Scars to STARs Day

On May 16, 2025, the STAR Network will host Scars to STARs Day, a free virtual event dedicated to healing, hope, and shared understanding. This event grew out of a simple but meaningful goal: to provide a space where people impacted by trauma, in any form, can feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Created by survivors, therapists, and wellness practitioners, Scars to STARs Day is designed to offer practical tools, community, and validation for those on a healing journey. Whether you’re just starting to explore what healing looks like for you or you’ve been on this path for years, you’re welcome here.

This isn’t meant to be a fix-all. Just a step forward, together.

What You Can Expect

At Scars to STARs Day, participants will have access to:

  • Live virtual sessions and panel discussions with trauma-informed speakers
  • A curated online exhibit of recovery resources and holistic support tools
  • A free 7-day trial to the Alternative Healthcare Solutions community
  • A chance to connect with others who may share similar experiences

Plus, when you register, you’ll receive a free resource:

“Calm the Chaos and Nerves” Guide — a toolkit to help regulate stress, support your nervous system, and bring more calm into your daily life.

Who Will Be Speaking?

We’re honored to welcome a thoughtful group of speakers, including:

  • The Honorable Patrick J. Kennedy — Mental health advocate and policy reformer
  • Richard Grannon — Emotional resilience coach
  • Dr. Jamie Huysman — Specialist in trauma and caregiving, toxic abusive relationships

…and others with lived experience and professional insight

They’ll be sharing knowledge, perspectives, and encouragement, not from a place of fixing anyone, but from a place of shared humanity.

An Invitation to Mental Health Professionals and Advocates

If you’re a therapist, educator, coach, or advocate, we invite you to help us share this event with others who might benefit. Whether by sharing it with clients, students, or your community, your voice can help extend the reach of support.

You Don’t Have to Go Through It Alone

If you’ve ever felt isolated in your healing journey, we hope this day offers a reminder: you’re not alone. Scars to STARs Day isn’t about pretending everything’s okay, it’s about honoring where you are and creating space for what’s next.

You’re not broken. You’re healing and that matters.

Join us on May 16 at 9 AM ET (Virtual Exhibition opens at 10 AM ET) for a day of reflection, learning, and shared support.

Register for free , and feel free to invite someone to join you!
